Sometimes life can be really tough on us – at least, that's how it was for me.😊
Illness, pain, financial worries, loneliness, or the loss of a loved one.
And suddenly, you feel as if you've been locked away in a dark basement.
Trapped in a prison that nobody else can see.
Trapped in our own thoughts, which can build the highest prison walls imaginable…
Our worries are the barbed wire. Our fears are the walls. And our inner voice is the strict prison guard.
But how do we get out?
Writer and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel was convinced:
Through gratitude.
You can't always change your current circumstances, but you can always change your attitude towards them.
And even in the most difficult times, there's always something to be grateful for.
But it takes practice!
So many little things throughout the day… A kind word. A smile. A moment without pain. Or simply the fact that we woke up this morning.
Each of these little moments can be like a shovelful of earth, helping us dig a tunnel out of our prison and into freedom.
And this is exactly where yoga, and especially Naked Yoga, comes into play.
Through yoga, we learn to observe our thoughts without having to believe everything they tell us.
And with Naked Yoga, we don't just take off our clothes. We also get the chance to let go of our worries, our self-doubts, and the judgments we make about our bodies, even if only for a moment.
We feel our breath, our body, and the life within us.
And perhaps we begin to realize: We can't change everything in our lives. But we can learn to deal with things differently.
Gratitude doesn't mean that everything is good. It means not losing sight of the good, even when so much feels difficult.
Because sometimes freedom doesn't begin when our lives change, but when the way we look at life changes.
So, my dear friend:
Take a little moment today and ask yourself:
What can I be grateful for today?
Perhaps that's your very first shovelful of earth on your way to inner freedom.
Lots of love
Your Elke
🥰
