Last week we spoke about energy.
An energy that does not come from food, oxygen, or sleep.
An energy that lives within you.
But be aware:
This energy can move in different directions.
It can lift you upward
or pull you deep into darkness.
This is what today is about.
Do you know this state
when everything feels heavy and dark?
Life seems like a constant struggle.
You try to stay in control.
Yet the more you try,
the deeper the pull becomes.
Downward.
Into darkness.
It feels as if there is no escape.
Again and again, “terrible things” seem to happen.
And at some point there is only one thought left:
I just have to survive.
This is the anatomy of falling.
What you do not recognize in these moments is this:
Your thoughts and feelings are present.
But they are not you.
Most people believe:
I am my thoughts.
I am my feelings.
In yoga this is called Maya — illusion.
In truth, you can observe your thoughts.
You can perceive your feelings,
even the painful ones.
And who is it that observes?
That is you.
Your awareness.
The witness.
The silent space
in which everything appears
and disappears again.
When you are able to take this seat,
to find your center,
it is like the eye of a hurricane.
Outside, the storm rages.
Inside, there is stillness.
Peace.
Clarity.
A quiet, unconditional sense of happiness.
Yet this is where the drama begins for many.
They lose their center.
Their true self.
They become entangled again
in thoughts and emotions.
The mind keeps turning
and pulls them further downward.
Attention is now fully captured
by what feels negative.
Then the urge to act appears.
I must get out of this situation.
Driven.
Radical.
Unclear.
I must do something.
Leave the partner.
Quit the unwanted job.
Run away.
Move.
Change countries.
But this does not arise from clarity,
from the center,
but from overwhelm.
When inner turmoil is carried outward,
darkness becomes more solid.
And decisions are defended
with great force.
This is how the fall continues.
Yet the way upward is simple.
Not through action.
But through pausing.
Through stepping back.
Through observing.
Through letting go.
Thoughts come.
Feelings move on.
You remain.
You are not the drama.
You are the witness of the drama.
From here, calm returns.
Contentment.
Clarity.
Not because the outer world changes immediately,
but because you remember
who you truly are.
And this is what Naked Yoga is about.
Naked.
Still.
Aware.
Becoming
who you really are.
Have a wonderful sunday.
Your Elke 😊
