In Africa, there is a simple, almost ingenious method to catch monkeys.
You take a coconut.
Hollow it out.
Tie it to a tree.
You place sweets inside the coconut.
The monkey comes.
It smells them.
It reaches inside.
Its open hand fits easily through the hole.
But then it makes a fist.
And suddenly, it is stuck.
The hole is too small to pull out the filled hand.
The monkey hears people approaching.
It panics.
It screams.
It pulls.
It struggles.
But it does not let go.
And yet, the solution would be so simple.
Open the hand.
Let go.
Be free.
But that almost never happens.
Now an honest question:
How often do you behave in exactly the same way?
You feel stuck.
In thoughts.
In emotions.
In old stories.
You fight.
You analyze.
You search for solutions.
And you overlook the obvious:
You are holding on.
Most of the problems we believe we have exist only in our mind.
They are the same thoughts, again and again.
The same stories.
Like in a dream, we take them to be true.
And that is exactly how we give them power.
Our thoughts circle around worries.
Around fears.
Around problems.
And with every thought, they grow.
Heavier.
More important.
And yet, they are just thoughts.
They come.
And they go.
And they come again.
Not reality.
Just thoughts.
And often it all begins with a single sentence:
“That’s just who I am.”
“I can’t do this.”
“I have a problem.”
Never trust your mind.
Your mind is a master at trapping you.
But not with real chains.
With thoughts.
And you believe them.
Again and again.
Like the monkey that refuses to let go of its sweets.
And yet, you don’t need to do anything.
No struggle.
No solution.
No new strategy.
Just one thing:
Let go.
Your beliefs.
Your old stories.
Your attachment.
The good news is:
You always have a choice.
Hold on.
Or be free.
What do you choose?
In naked yoga, this is exactly what you practice.
Letting go.
You begin with your clothes.
And then you go deeper and deeper.
Layer by layer.
Until there is nothing left to hold on to.
And right there, something new begins:
Freedom.
Happiness.
Calm.
I will help you.
Yours,
Elke 😊
