It keeps you awake ... your thinking.

“Think about it…”
How many times have you heard that — or said it to yourself?
Nothing wrong with thinking.
It can be helpful, even necessary.
But when you can’t switch it off anymore,
you’ve got a problem, especially at night, when you just want to sleep.
You were born happy, free, curious, alive.
Then you were taught how to think “the right way.”
At school, during training, at university.
Thinking can be useful,
but no one ever showed you how to turn it off.
“Think about it…”
When was the last time you were truly happy?
Moments of deep happiness are always moments without thoughts.
Pure being.
Content without wanting.
Completely present.
Thinking is like driving a car.
You need to learn it, and it’s useful
when you want to get from one place to another.
In driving school, you learned how to start the engine,
how to control the car,
and — just as important —
how to stop it when you no longer need it.
But why has no one ever taught you
how to stop your mind
when you no longer need it?
That’s where yoga begins.
Yoga means stilling the movements of the mind.
A training of awareness.
A path to real happiness.
Meditation is the art of observing the mind
until it becomes quiet
and truth begins to shine through.
Move away from thinking and into life.
Undress completely, not only your body,
but also your ideas, your roles, your stories.
Come back to sensing, to observing.
Feel your body, your breath.
Watch your thoughts, without getting tangled in them.
This is where yoga begins.
Your path to happiness.
Your way to freedom.
Think about it —
or better yet,
feel it.:)
Yours,
Elke
