The year is slowly coming to an end.
What do you wish for in the new year?

I wish that I would wish less and less.
Because I believe we can only be happy without wishes.

Often we do not even notice how strongly we are driven by wishing.
We want more calm.
More money.
More contentment.

More recognition.
More time.
More love.

Less pain
and less fear.

The wish list is long.
And it rarely gets shorter.

It is:

The healthy person has a thousand wishes –
the sick person only one.

Only when something is missing, truly missing, does everything shrink.
Then often only one single wish remains:

That it will be good again.
That the body functions.

That one is allowed to simply be there without struggle.

Perhaps this is exactly the point
at which we can recognize something essential:

Not every wish makes us free.
Many make us restless.
Some keep us permanently in a state of lack.

Yoga and especially naked yoga can help us with this.

Not to suppress wishes or “get rid of” them.
But to see them consciously.

And then to notice
that it is often already enough
when we stop constantly wanting something else.

Practicing naked takes the ground away from wishful thinking.

The body is as it is.
The breath flows or hesitates.
The moment cannot be optimized.

And exactly in this lies a quiet freedom:

For a moment not having to improve anything.
Not having to present anything.
Not having to achieve anything.

Perhaps happiness is not the fulfillment of our thousand wishes.
But the ability to let them rest for a moment.
And simply be.
