For most people, it means being happy overall. Somehow satisfied with what is and was.
How nice it would be if, at the end of your life, you could look back and say:
“I am content. I have had a happy and fulfilling life. I am grateful that I was able to be here and I leave this earth with a smile in my heart and a sparkle in my eyes.”
Although everyone wants it, only very few make it.
Why is that?
Causes of suffering in life.
There are various reasons why so many people struggle in life.
The most important one is
Ignorance
Happiness is an inside job.
You will never find lasting happiness in the outside world.
Even if you've been told over and over again and most people around you keep trying.
It is and remains wrong and an impossibility. You have been lied to, you have not been told the truth. In most cases, because they didn't know any better themselves.
You can achieve all your goals, become rich and famous, but you will never find inner peace this way. You'll never be free and happy that way.
If that worked, then all the rich and famous people in the world would also be happy and content. The reality is quite different.
Happiness and contentment are predominantly a matter of inner attitude.
Being happy has nothing to do with being lucky.
Most people are constantly trying to have as many good moments and as few bad moments as possible.
The whole fun and entertainment industry thrives on this.
What seems sensible at first glance is actually the seed for a life of suffering.
Firstly, life is the way it is, it simply changes all the time. It is sometimes like this and sometimes like that.
That is the basic law of nature. Everything is always changing.
If you try to have it as nice and good as possible - and if possible until the end of your life, then you are living against nature, so to speak.
Even the seemingly not so nice things are part of life. That's just the way it is.
And who decides what is good and bad for you?
Only you yourself, of course.
It's never the things themselves that worry us, but always the meaning we give them.
And we give them meaning based on our past, the experiences we have had.
This means that we are tied to our past and cannot freely shape our future.
Secondly, in the search for as much fun and pleasure as possible in life, you get into a hamster wheel from which it is no longer easy to get out.
Always agitated, always doing, doing and fighting, always looking for distraction, always on the move, but never getting a single step further.
